Öyle gür, öyle içli ve dokunaklı bir sesti ki, dinlemeye doyamazdık... Yarım saat kadar süren bu konser, bir zaman sonra, komşu siperlerde de duyulmuştu. Zaman zaman bizim siper, Türk'ün konserini dinlemeye gelenleri misafir ederdi. Bu sese hepimiz hayrandık. Ancak ne söylerdi, bu tatlı ve iç yakan, ruhumuzu kavuran nağmeler ne söylerdi, bilmezdik. Fakat derinden derine etkilenirdik.

Bazen hafif bir esinti çıkar ve bu yanık nağmeleri başka yöne ******ürürdü. Biz, kulaklarımızı dört açıp daha iyi duymak için, neredeyse başımızı dışarıya çıkaracak hale gelirdik. Efsunlu bir sesti bu!..
